Vegas Vegetarian

Las Vegas is well-known for its buffets and world-class dining, but it also has a fantastic selection of vegetarian restaurants as well.
And of course, you don’t have to be vegetarian to enjoy a great vegetarian meal!
My friend Alicia at The Denver Traveler was born and raised here and has some great recommendations:
…
The Go Raw Cafe (pictured above)
This restaurant and juice bar does exactly what its name suggests: No food is cooked or even warmed - basically it’s altered (chopped, sliced, pureed) but never exposed to heat to cook it. Alicia says cold tomato soup is a little weird at first but the food is so good you get over it quickly! Check out the rest of the menu which jumps from burritos to sushi, lasagna to wraps - and none of it cooked!
They have two locations: The first is at 2910 Lake East Drive and is open from 9am to 9pm Monday through Saturday (closed Sunday). The second location is at the Smiths Shopping Center at 2381 Windmill Lane and is open from 8am to 8pm Monday through Saturday, and 8am to 5pm on Sundays.
…
Long Life Vegetarian Restaurant
Long Life Vegetarian is a vegetarian Chinese restaurant that serves sushi and other Chinese favorites but uses “faux meat,” though Alicia says you’d never know it (the seafood is real, though!). They’re not expensive and you get a lot of food, unlike many vegetarian restaurants that seem to give you the bare minimum. It’s located at 4130 S Sandhill Rd # A4, and is open from 11am to 9pm Monday through Saturday.
…
Samosa Factory
Another of Alicia’s favorites, Samosa Factory specializes in Indian food and, of course, samosas (a popular snack in India). Though it’s not a vegetarian-only restaurant they do offer many veg-only dishes, including Spinach Paneer (which Alicia says is divine), Mattar Paneer and pakora (deep-fried veggies!). Meat eaters can also enjoy their lamb and chicken dishes as well. Be forewarned - a flip through the menu will make you hungry!

Shawn Marie and I LOVE Long Life and the Samosa factory. We miss them both, and can’t wait to come back to town and eat there again.
Shawn Marie is a vegetarian for over 20 years, so she was worried that I wouldn’t enjoy vegetarian food. Those places (and her cooking, but you can’t get that in Vegas!) convinced me that vegetarian dining is delicious!!!!

I’m so glad you gave me the info you did! When we go out to eat we tend to stick with places we know we love and probably wouldn’t venture toward vegetarian without knowing it was great beforehand. We have a lot of places to hit the next time you guys are in town! :D
