The Meadows Mall

My favorite mall here in Vegas is the Meadows Mall. It’s not the hippest or trendiest around, but it has everything you could want and is located in a spot that’s convenient from both the residential areas and the Strip.
It opened in 1978 and has over 960,000 square feet of fantastic retail space. Though there have been just a few times we’ve had to park out on the outer edges of one lot or another, it also has nearly 5,000 parking spaces so we usually manage to get one pretty close to our destination!
The two-story mall runs the typical gamut from accessories to toys and is pretty easy to navigate. It has 140 stores and four anchor stores - Sears, Macy’s, JCPenney, and Dillard’s, and a pretty extensive food court with favorites like Hot Dog on a Stick, Pretzel Time, McDonald’s, and Mrs. Field’s Cookies. A newer addition is a Nestle Tollhouse Cafe that smells divine every time we’ve walked by, though we haven’t bowed to temptation just yet (I can’t see spending money on something I can just make at home!).
Those who take their shopping seriously will appreciate the many options throughout the rest of the mall with the aforementioned Macy’s and Dillard’s, as well as Hollister Co., HM Formal, New York & Company, Victoria’s Secret and Zumiez, to name just a fraction of the clothing stores alone!
It’s probably safe to say that after the many year’s we’ve been here that we’ve hit just about every store there for one reason or another, though I’ve spent a bit of time at See’s Candies and Borders, and my husband had a great experience at Zales for Valentine’s Day in particular!
The kids like KB Toys and The Disney Store but I think it’ll be a few more years still before they appreciate the convenience of having a Payless Shoes, several nail salons, and a Bath & Body Works in one place.
Like most malls, Meadows Mall has become inundated with the independent vendors in the main mall aisle, and there’s one particular spot in the lower level that I’ve dubbed “Shark Walk” because it’s nothing but a dozen vendors just waiting for anyone to walk by so they can pounce with lotion samples and cell phone accessories. It seems to be the price to pay anywhere for good shopping, though!
Mall hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm, and Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
