The Las Vegas Marathon
Online shoe superstore (with a location in Las Vegas!) Zappos.com is sponsoring the third annual Las Vegas Marathon this Sunday, December 2. The marathon will take place on the Strip and begins at 6:07am. Participation is expected to be around 17,000 and 18,000 runners, up 15% from last year.
The course will span 26.2 miles (with only 5.5 miles actually on the Strip) including through the Fremont Street Experience and looping through Las Vegas and Clark County. It begins and ends at the Mandalay Bay at the south end of the Strip.
Spectators are welcome and encouraged to watch and numbers are expected to reach approximately 250,000 throughout the course! Temps at 6am will be hovering around 30 degrees, so make sure you bundle up.
