The Best Time to Come to Las Vegas

by Heather on August 11th, 2008

las vegas trafficThough it may seem like it’s always crowded, there are some times that are better to come to Vegas than others, specifically days of the week!

If you like or don’t mind being crowded and jostled by other tourists, the standard Friday through Sunday would be the obvious choice to spend in town.

But keep in mind that Vegas isn’t alive only on the weekends - that hot club you want to check out or the restaurant on the Strip run by a celebrity chef are open seven days a week, and showing up between Sunday to Thursday will give you a better chance of getting in!

Hotels also have better rates on the “off days” because they know most people think that the weekends are the best time to be in town and of course they take advantage of that. Some weekday rates are as much as 300% less than weekend rates.

I don’t really have a recommendation for which time of year is best to come - that’s really more of a personal choice. Though it gets pretty chilly between November and March, April through October start warming up, with the highest temps from July to September.

And though rates tend to be cheaper before Christmas (not as many people wanting to take a vacation just then), they skyrocket for most other holidays, especially guaranteed three-day weekends like Labor Day and Memorial Day.

Def. good information. With the travel industry being so down right now if you are traveling to vegas you can really try to bargin for hotel prices right now because hotels are really trying to fill their rooms.
