Walk up to anyone anywhere and say “what happens here stays here” and chances are they’ll immediately be able to tell you that that slogan belongs to Las Vegas. It’s been copied and bastardized over the years but it can be argued that that’s the sign of a brilliant marketing campaign.

The powers-that-be that brought us “What Happens Here Stays Here” have come up with another one, and I admit I don’t care for it. “Your Vegas Is Showing” was thought up in an effort to lure new visitors to the city’s seemingly desperate need to evolve into a mini-Manhattan with the new expensive gourmet restaurants, high fashion boutiques, and high-rise condos popping up everywhere.

According to the LVRJ, their intent is to just “add on” to the highly successful current slogan. It points out that Las Vegas actually has several lesser slogans aimed at narrow audiences, including “Not business as usual,” aimed at meeting planners; “Overtime guaranteed,” to promote special events; and “A world of entertainment,” for international audiences.
