The much-hyped 2007 opening of the Palazzo Hotel kind of happened yesterday. Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club opened, as well as the gaming area but they were so low-key that not many people even knew about it. The 3,068-room hotel itself is not actually open yet though reservations have been set for as early as January 6.

The reason seems to be that the Palazzo got a last-minute permit to open certain areas, which I guess counts as a 2007 opening. The company announced back in August that it would be opening December 20, but after structural issues were found the date has been moved back.

The grand opening is scheduled for January 17, 2008.
