Every second Sunday of the month (tomorrow!) The Liberace Museum allows Las Vegas locals and their guests free admission. Sunday hours are noon to 4pm.
The Liberace Museum houses and showcases pianos, cars, costumes, decor and jewelry that established Liberace as the legendary and beloved “Mr. Showmanship.”
The Liberace Museum Store and Café also operate during normal business hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday from noon to 4pm, closed Mondays.
Regular admission is $15 for adults and $10 for seniors 65+ as well as students with a valid school ID. Liberace …read more

The Southern Nevada Health District has created the “Get Healthy Clark County” campaign for all Southern Nevada residents to get and stay healthy.
They’re offering several different programs, including Walk Around Nevada and a nutrition challenge which will help you increase your fruit and vegetable intake. There’s also a Smoke Free Home Declaration to help you quit smoking!
The community calendar is updated weekly with programs, health fairs, and volunteer meetings up through March.

I just saw these mentioned on the morning news and had to write about them. They’re called Liberace Kicks and are now being sold at the Liberace Museum and online at liberace.org.

Rollergirls fascinate me. Maybe it’s because there’s not a chance in hell I’d ever have the guts to do it, or maybe because the women who participate are such great sports about taking a beating or dishing one out.

What’s better than over 8 minutes of fireworks from the tops of a whole lot of hotel buildings? The kids love it, we love it, the newscasters definitely love it!

I was flipping through the stack of mail this afternoon on my way back from the mailbox and came close to tossing the “Centennial View,” a small “neighborhood newspaper” that clutters up our mailbox every few days.
The front page caught my eye, though, with a scene that looked familiar: The paper had done a small article on the house down the street!

One of our family traditions each year is to drive around surrounding neighborhoods a couple of days before Christmas and look at the house lights.
There’s one house down the street that goes all out every year: Decorations start going up the day after Thanksgiving and continue all throughout the following weekend. Once they’re up cars pull over in front of the house to take it all in, and every year new stuff is added.

This year they added a countdown timer in the window! The kids got a kick out of that.
