Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que Review

My husband was treated to dinner at Lucille’s Smokehouse a few months ago after finishing up a late night at work. He brought home a few ribs for me to try and I’ve been impatiently waiting until we could all go together!
We finally made it out to Green Valley Ranch in Henderson to try it out and I think it’s safe to say the entire family is hooked – it’s definitely one of our new favorite restaurants!

The Simpsons House

The Simpsons House

Everyone remembers the contest several years ago (1997, I think) sponsored by Fox and Pepsi that involved a real house modeled after the one on The Simpsons. I didn’t realize until we moved here that it was just down the street from Vegas in neighboring Henderson.
Barbara Howard, a 63-year-old retired factory worker from Richmond, Ky., won the four-bedroom, 2,200-square-foot house in 1997 after sending in an entry form from a box of Brisk ice tea.
The house is located 712 Red Bark Lane and has since been repainted. While I don’t blame anyone for it (I couldn’t live in …read more

An Old-Fashioned Christmas

The Clark County Museum in Henderson will be presenting Heritage Street Holidays starting at 4:30 p.m daily through January 13. I love this idea and will definitely be hauling the family down to check it out!

Human Garbage Chester Stiles Picked Up in Henderson

Chester “Chet” Stiles was pulled over in Henderson yesterday for a routine traffic stop after an officer discovered that his car had no license plate. He produced a California driver’s license that looked nothing like him, and when questioned he admitted who he was and that he was “tired of running.” According to the officer he apparently also said that “if you have sex with a 3-year-old on tape, you have to run.” He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center.
Stiles has been the center of a nationwide manhunt for the last two weeks after a videotape of him …read more
