Robert DeNiro Opens AGO Restaurant
Robert DeNiro was in town last night to open a new restaurant, AGO in the Hard Rock Hotel. DeNiro is a partner in the restaurant with executive chef Agostino Sciandri, whom the restaurant is named for.
The Italian trattoria is best known for its “authentic Tuscan-style Italian fare that emphasizes light and simple cooking with signature dishes including Burrata con Fagiolini, Tagliatelle al Ragu Antico, and Branzino ai Ferri con Pane Profumato. The menu is similar to the restaurant’s three other locations - Los Angeles, Miami and a New York location opening in March.”
“This is such an exciting time for Las Vegas dining and I’m happy to have the opportunity to be a part of it,’ said Agostino Sciandri, executive chef and partner. ‘Diners in our Las Vegas restaurant will get what they come to expect from all of our AGO restaurants - Good food in a good environment, it’s as simple as that. If you aren’t 30 something forgetaboutit! The staff is indifferent to most anything other than that. The food is just ok and the wait staff got our food placement incorrect twice. The room itself is lovely but other than that they have a couple of very important issues to correct.

Went with friends to the location on Melrose in Beverly Hills. Dinner was excellent. The steak was perfect… must have come from Texas!!! :) Good for you Robert and Christopher for finding staff that can pull it all together from getting the right produce to plating and service!!!
