Mariah Carey is Coming to Las Vegas

It’s just been announced that pop diva and newlywed Mariah Carey has signed on at Planet Hollywood for her own Las Vegas show!

She’ll be joining the likes of Bette Midler and Cher as not only a headliner of her own Strip show but also as a resident of Las Vegas.

The deal will earn her a nice $100 million over three years for a nightly performance. No word yet when on when her run begins.

An insider has said “Mariah is one of the most popular performers around. She could easily become the Queen of the Las Vegas strip.”

I was in Las Vegas for the last week and had the privilege of listening to a lot of tourists thrilled at the chance to see her perform… Then I asked if they were as-thrilled to see Bette Midler. To my surprise, no one under the age of 30 even knew who I was talking about.

I guess some people are going to be ecstatic to see Mariah… just not this writer. I’m going to see Ms. Divine.

Oh Ryan, the thought of people not knowing who Bette Midler is makes my head hurt! Truth be told I would MUCH rather see her than Mariah any day!

Hi Ryan,

I am a 22yr old female from Australia who ABSOLUTELY LOVES Bette Midler and went to her concert 2years ago when she was down in Melbourne! She is amazing!! And yes I LOVE Mariah Carey!! I’m heading to Las Vegas hoping to catch her show in late October to November I hope she’s there but if not I could watch Bette Midler over again! I wanted to catch Celine Dion but I guess I missed out… They are the only original singers I love oh and Elton John. My friends laugh at me but I love hearing real voices but don’t get me wrong Daft Punk and all the Y-Gen music is my thing too. Just thought you should know I know who Bette Midler is and I’m under 30 by 8yrs. ;0)
