Get Star Struck at Madame Tussauds

Craving some star gazing but don’t want to travel to LA or New York? Madame Tussauds may be able to fill the need!
The wax museum has been a part of Las Vegas since 1999 when it opened one of its half dozen worldwide locations on the Strip. It’s located on the moving walkway between the Venetian and Las Vegas Blvd just off Spring Mountain.
The Las Vegas museum focuses mainly on celebrities, whereas other locations around the world feature celebrities, sports stars, historical figures, world leaders and in the case of the London location, a Chamber of Horrors! Each figure takes between six to twelve months and $150,000 - $250,000 to complete. Using actual hair samples and photos, they’re made in London before being shipped to Las Vegas.
The accuracy of some of the figures seems to be hit or miss, while others are right on target. Clips of some of the celebrities’ movies, appearances and other career highlights also appear on TV screens behind the exhibits.
Want a souvenir? If you’re on a budget you can get a wax mold made of your hand, or if you’ve hit the jackpot at the slots you can actually get a wax figure of yourself or a loved one (to the tune of $300,000 plus a trip to London), or a pet (only a measly $50,000) with the “Immortality package.”
While regular hours are usually daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. they sometimes close earlier for events, so you’re encouraged to call (702) 862-7800 ahead of time to double check availability. Plan to spend about $25 per adult ticket (ages 13-59), $15 for kids under 12, and $18 for seniors over 60.
