First Anniversary Party at the Springs Preserve

by Heather on June 3rd, 2008

springs preserve

To celebrate its first year, the Springs Preserve is throwing an all-you-can-eat ice cream party this Sunday, June 8th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m! Activities will include improv comedy, live music, Celtic dancers, and tours.

Tickets are only $6 and include admission to all museums and galleries.

In its first year, the Springs Preserve has produced enough electricity from its 2,200 solar panels to power 80 homes for a whole year! It has also saved 2,500 cubic yards of landfill space by coordinating the recycling and mulching of 19,000 Christmas trees. It’s saved more than 1 million gallons of water by using artificial grass in place of sod in the 2,000-seat outdoor amphitheater.
