No, it’s not Venice.  It’s the Gondola ride at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Okay, it’s a little touristy, and it’s definitely NOT Venice, but it’s still a bit of romantic fun away from the flashing lights and noise of the casinos.  You need to take a break from the fast paced action some time, and this isn’t a bad choice.

The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority is offering up the Shop Vegas Passport [pdf], a printable coupon for non-Nevada residents to be redeemed at area malls around the valley.
Simply print out the coupon and redeem it at one of the seven malls listed below and on the coupon!

The Las Vegas Premium Outlets, located just behind the huge World Market Center off the I-15, houses 150 outlet stores in an open-air mall.
With stores like Ann Taylor, Calvin Klein, Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, Skechers, and The Children’s Place (check the full store listing here), The Premium Outlet mall should be a stop during your next trip to Las Vegas. The Miracle Mile Shops (formerly Desert Passage) is an enclosed shopping mall at Planet Hollywood, directly across the Strip from the Bellagio.
The minute you walk into the mall you’re transported to a cool desert oasis with themed store fronts and even a beautifully realistic sky painted on the rounded ceiling. Speaking only from personal experience, this is one mall that got it right – instead of feeling overwhelmed and rushed it’s a very pleasant and calming shopping venue!

One of the places Samantha Brown visited in her Weekend Getaways episode the other night was the Manolo Blahnik shop at the Wynn Esplanade, one of only two MB boutiques in the US (the other in New York, New York).

Sherry at The Geeky Traveler had a great post earlier this week linking to GasBuddy.com. Plug in your city or zip code and it’ll give you a listing of the lowest gas prices in your area!
The site is networked with over 180 other sites (all operated by GasBuddy.com) and relies on local motorists to log in and enter current gas prices as they find them. They also have a great list of gas-saving tips!

My favorite mall here in Vegas is the Meadows Mall. It’s not the hippest or trendiest around, but it has everything you could want and is located in a spot that’s convenient from both the residential areas and the Strip.
It opened in 1978 and has over 960,000 square feet of fantastic retail space. Though there have been just a few times we’ve had to park out on the outer edges of one lot or another, it also has nearly 5,000 parking spaces so we usually manage to get one pretty close to …read more

Very sadly, the Pass It On Las Vegas website I wrote about a while ago has closed its doors. No real explanation was given though it was hinted that bandwidth was an issue. Several other members stepped in when the problem first came to light and started up off-shoot groups though many of them seem to be struggling as well, since most members of the original PIOLV weren’t able to hear about them before the site shut down.
