The Lion King is Coming to Vegas

Mandalay Bay will soon be the newest home of the much-loved Disney stage adaptation of The Lion King!
Performances will begin May 2, 2009 with previews starting April 20th. The Mandalay Bay joins six other venues around the globe, including New York, London, Hamburg, Paris, Tokyo and Fukuoka.
Ticket prices and performance schedules haven’t been announced yet but you can bet my three little Disney experts will keep reminding me to check!

Mariah Carey is Coming to Las Vegas

It’s just been announced that pop diva and newlywed Mariah Carey has signed on at Planet Hollywood for her own Las Vegas show!
She’ll be joining the likes of Bette Midler and Cher as not only a headliner of her own Strip show but also as a resident of Las Vegas.
The deal will earn her a nice $100 million over three years for a nightly performance. No word yet when on when her run begins.

The Flamingo Hotel has announced that all remaining Toni Braxton: Revealed scheduled shows have been canceled so Toni can concentrate on her health. She was hospitalized in April for chest pains, and has suffered from pericarditis – a viral inflammation of the heart.
The show, dark since Toni’s April 7 hospitalization, was supposed to re-open next week on June 6. Her two-year run at the Flamingo was set to end in August.
