To celebrate its first year, the Springs Preserve is throwing an all-you-can-eat ice cream party this Sunday, June 8th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m! Activities will include improv comedy, live music, Celtic dancers, and tours.
Tickets are only $6 and include admission to all museums and galleries.
In its first year, the Springs Preserve has produced enough electricity from its 2,200 solar panels to power 80 homes for a whole year! It’s probably safe to say that anyone who’s ever had In-N-Out Burger suddenly just got very hungry! Truth be told, Alicia can keep her Chik-Fil-A (which Vegas is, admittedly, sorely lacking) because I have In-N-Out!
In-N-Out Burger is, without exception, something everyone in my family can agree on when we need a quick lunch or dinner. Las Vegas is well-known for its buffets and world-class dining, but it also has a fantastic selection of vegetarian restaurants as well.
And of course, you don’t have to be vegetarian to enjoy a great vegetarian meal!

My husband was treated to dinner at Lucille’s Smokehouse a few months ago after finishing up a late night at work. He brought home a few ribs for me to try and I’ve been impatiently waiting until we could all go together!
We finally made it out to Green Valley Ranch in Henderson to try it out and I think it’s safe to say the entire family is hooked – it’s definitely one of our new favorite restaurants!

Spring has definitely sprung around the valley and with it come the openings of farmers markets!

The kids are out for Spring Break this week so today we decided to hook up with my husband for lunch. He and a few coworkers have been wanting to try a new Mexican restaurant down the street so we decided to check it out.
Viva Mercado’s is located at 3553 South Rainbow Boulevard. I believe the building they’re in now used to be a Sizzler, for those who have also been around for a few years!

I have a love/hate thing with the Review Journal’s Best of Las Vegas that they publish every year.
On the one hand, you can find some really great stuff (you really should try the Bobbie) that you normally wouldn’t have, but on the other hand you have to wonder if the readers even try (Taco Bell was voted best tacos for 12 years. No joke. And P.F. Chang’s apparently has the best Chinese, and Olive Garden has the best Italian. Just… no.). At least the RJ staff manage to scope out restaurants without a dollar value menu.
