World’s Championship Chili Cook-Off at the Tropicana
400 competitors will be converging on the Tropicana this weekend for what can only be considered one of the best ideas for a contest ever – a chili cook-off!
From October 10th to the 12th, competitors from all over the US will compete in one or more of the following categories: World’s Championship Salsa, World’s Championship Chili Verde and World’s Championship Traditional Red. Cash prizes for the 2008 WCCC total $45,000!
The event will take place in the northeast parking lot and will include live music, chili tasting, retail vendors, food, drink, guest participation contests and much more.
The WCCC is free of charge and open to the public. But guests who wish to participate in chili tasting must purchase tasting tickets. The chili tasting will take place between 1-3 pm daily or until the chili runs out. Participation allows for a chance to vote in the People’s Choice Chili Competition.
